Reminder: If you are a new member and need to fulfill your membership requirements the above listed events will need help. Please feel free to contact the club and let us know which function you'd like to participate in.

Shoots have started

This is a fun filled afternoon for the whole family. Please contact the club for details or if you would like to know when the next shoot will be scheduled. This is a club function, so anyone who needs to fulfill their membership obligations please consider coming down to help.

Kudos' to Isley Skye MacKendrick

On Christmas Day Isley managed to unplug a burning extension cord thereby saving the family home from a fire and allowing ample time to get the family out of the house safely. Congratulations Isley for your quick thinking and your courageous act.

Club Committees

Committees are being formed for the year. If you would like to help out, stop by the club and add your name to the committee roster hanging on the wall. More hands make the work go faster, and the tasks more enjoyable!

Lj's tip for January:

Attach a spring-loaded cloths pin to the bottom of your ice tilt with a couple of small screws. When fishing with large bait clip the line in the cloths pin to prevent the bait from tripping the flag.

General Information:

If you have turned 65 and have 5 years of membership you are entitled to a life membership. Please contact the club if this applies to you.

Friendly reminder - We are always looking for help at the club events and functions. If you need to complete your 3 new member details, this is a way to do that. You see the club events published in this article. Mark them on your calendars as a reminder, check with your sponsor to see if anything is coming up or stop by the club and see what's happening. An extra pair of hands always makes the chore easier, and more fun!

Remember...

  • If anyone knows of a member who is sick or hospitalized, please let us know. You can leave a message at 508-435-4148.

  • Don't forget Trap shooting on Sunday afternoons. We start around 1:30. Come on down and join in the fun. Quite a few people have joined in over the past couple of months. The public is welcomed.
  • " Goal Membership: At our last meeting Dennis Smith brought up the subject of Woodville members joining Goal. There are many benefits of being a Goal member that will also benefit us. Beside Goal representing & protecting our rights to bear arms, they also pay for you to receive the Outdoor Message, thus a cost savings for the club. Applications are at the club, in the newsletter or online at www.goal.org. If you have questions, please attend a members meeting or talk with Dennis Smith.

Please contact Cherryl if you would like to purchase a jacket or shirt, or the bartenders can help with hats.

New pictures have been added to our website, check them out at: www.woodvillerodandgun.com and click on the "Gallery". If you would like to post anything to the website please send it to webmaster@woodvillerodandgun.com. If you have any questions, contact one of the members on the website committee Dennis Wadsworth "Webmaster", Lee Wright, Karen Remillard, Jeff Gemski and Cherryl Barrett (chairperson).

In October we have the stocking of the birds for pheasant hunting. Good luck to all that participate and hopefully we may get a story or two to share with others. Folks are already talking about sightings of deer and wild turkeys in the area.

Thank you to all the folks that have been lending a hand in making some much needed repairs around the club. In some cases they may seem like no big deal, but some minor adjustments make a world of difference to those of us that face them each time we are there. Thank you again for your time and energy. (I for one, having griped about certain things for the past couple of years, greatly appreciate it)!!
