Condolences:

We are sending our sincerest Condolences to Lane Marks Family, Mike Minardi's Family and Carl Brown's Family.

Hopkinton Food Bank:

The Hopkinton food bank needs help. Their shelves are extremely low right now. There are two bins in the clubhouse for donations. Please check any expiration dates before donating. There is a list at the club of suggested items.

Holiday Decorations:

In our haste to get information into The Message last month about the Christmas Parties, we neglected to make mention of how beautiful the hall was decorated. Cris Riley spent at least 3 weeks decorating the hall, upstairs balcony, and the bar area. The Tree was decorated with all kinds of hunting and fishing related items. It was spectacular. The hall was just as beautiful as was the bar area. Thank you very much Cris for all the long hours you put in, it was well worth it and we very much appreciate it. Our apologies to you for our forgetfulness.

Coming Events:

Next month we'll report on Superbowl Sunday, the Game Feed, the Ice Fishing Derby and any other events that might have happened. We have had some diehard ice fishing fans out on Lake Whitehall a couple of times so far this new year!

The Pitch League is starting up again in February, so this will bring some fun to the club during the winter months.

Last call for Dues

Please remember that the dues are now $90.00, until 01/31/2008.

If you have a hardship paying your dues this year, please contact someone from the membership committee. We'd rather work it out with you than loose a valuable member.

If you have turned 65 and have 5 years of membership you are entitled to a life membership. Please contact the club if this applies to you.

Do you have an email address? Would you like to be notified via email about upcoming events? Please include your email address when you pay your dues this year. Or send an email to remillard_karen@emc.com and we'll add you to the database.

Welcome New Members:

Allan Ayotte & Joel Stevens

General Information:

If you have turned 65 and have 5 years of membership you are entitled to a life membership. Please contact the club if this applies to you.

Friendly reminder - We are always looking for help at the club events and functions. If you need to complete your 3 new member details, this is a way to do that. You see the club events published in this article. Mark them on your calendars as a reminder, check with your sponsor to see if anything is coming up or stop by the club and see what's happening. An extra pair of hands always makes the chore easier, and more fun!

Remember...

  • If anyone knows of a member who is sick or hospitalized, please let us know. You can leave a message at 508-435-4148.
  • Don't forget Trap shooting on Sunday afternoons. We start around 1:30. Come on down and join in the fun. Quite a few people have joined in over the past couple of months. The public is welcomed. Thank you to the members that have done some maintenance work on the trap machine which will keep things running smoothly.
  • Goal Membership: There are many benefits of being a Goal member that will also benefit us. Beside Goal representing & protecting our rights to bear arms, they also pay for you to receive the Outdoor Message, thus a cost savings for the club. Applications are at the club, in the newsletter or online at www.goal.org. If you have questions, please attend a members meeting or talk with Dennis Smith.
  • " There are some sweatshirts (front zippered) for sale and at the club. A list of the sizes is on the bulletin board.

Other notes...

When you are sponsoring someone for membership, please have the application fee handed in with the application form. The membership committee will review applications at their next scheduled meeting. The Membership committee will then schedule an appointment for the interview. If you have any questions, please contact someone on the Membership committee. The committee meets on the second Thursday of the month from 7:30pm to 8:15pm.

New members, if you need to complete your 3 work details, we still have some functions coming up that would help fulfill this obligation. Remember, anytime we have a function at the hall, there is a job to be done.

Ongoing, we can order jackets, shirts, etc. If you are interested in looking at these items please contact the club (508-435-4148). We have orange and green hats on hand, now embroidered ($8), and the newest item is a camouflaged version ($12), two styles. Please contact Cherryl if you would like to purchase a club jacket or other article of clothing. The bartenders can help with the hats, as they are usually in stock at the club.

We added member hunting pictures! When new pictures have been added to our website, check them out at: www.woodvillerodandgun.com and click on the "Gallery". If you would like to post anything to the website please send it to webmaster@woodvillerodandgun.com. If you have any questions, contact one of the members on the website committee Dennis Wadsworth "Webmaster", Lee Wright, Karen Remillard, or Jeff Gemski.
