Website needs photos!

Folks, we need updated photos for the website. Many of you take pictures are our events, but we don't seem to very much from you to post. If you have pictures that we can use, please place them on a cd and drop them off at the club. Or you can email them to Remillard_karen@emc.com. We can also post pictures in this publication. If you'd like to include a photo, send it along with any caption you'd like with it.

Kids Fishing Derby

We will report the excitement of the day in the next issue of the Outdoor Message. Preparations have been going on since April for this annual event. Hope many of you have taken advantage of the day! Fishing runs from 8am - 12pm, with an awards ceremony following.

Junior Conservation Camp

The following two children will be attending the Conservation camp this year Dominic Morazzini & Katie Main. The children that have attended in the past have reported a wonderful learning experience. We're sure these kids will have the same.

Trout Derby

What a wonderful day it was to have our annual Trout Derby. The weather was perfect, the waters calm and everyone was excited to be able to get on the water and begin fishing for some hungry Trout. The event was enjoyed by all ages, mostly experienced fisherman; some of us were newbie's. The day started with a fisherman's breakfast put on by Paul Harlow and his crew. A huge thank you to all of you who participated in making this derby a successful day. This year we started having hamburgers, hot dogs and Sausage/peppers & onions. This is something new we are trying and will be incorporating this at our Ice Derby. Thank you to all who assisted in cooking and selling tickets.

I'd like to say a special thank you to Lee Wright, who for many years now has organized all our derbies. He has done a spectacular job and deserves a pat on the back. He recently has asked to step down from these responsibilities so he can enjoy the events with his relatives. We are now looking for folks to join the Sporting Committee. Anyone interested, please stop by the club and sign up.

Thank you Lee, for all that you've done.

Committee Openings:

We are looking for folks on the following committees

  • Sporting Committee
  • Website Committee
  • The Outdoor Message Committee
If you have an interest, please contact the club for information.

Notices of upcoming events being sent via emails

Do you have an email address? Would you like to be notified via email about upcoming events? Please include your email address when you pay your dues this year. Or send an email to remillard_karen@emc.com and we'll add you to the database.

Committee Help

There is always room for one more on any of the committees at the club. Presently we could use some help on the Outdoor Message committee. If you have a knack for writing or would like to give it a try, it doesn't take much time. You can submit ideas thru email. Maybe a funny story while fishing or hunting, (we hear a lot of them at the club), it would be a great thing to share with fellow club members. Maybe you feel like a news reporter and can get the "scoop" on the club happenings. Whatever way you can help, we would welcome anyone to help out. Please let us know if you are interested.

Other notes...

When you are sponsoring someone for membership, please have the application fee handed in with the application form. The membership committee will review applications at their next scheduled meeting. The Membership committee will then schedule an appointment for the interview. If you have any questions, please contact someone on the Membership committee. The committee meets on the second Thursday of the month from 7:30pm to 8:15pm.

New members, if you need to complete your 3 work details, we still have some functions coming up that would help fulfill this obligation. Remember, anytime we have a function at the hall, there is a job to be done.

Ongoing, we can order jackets, shirts, etc. If you are interested in looking at these items please contact the club (508-435-4148). We have orange and green hats on hand, now embroidered ($8), and the newest item is a camouflaged version ($12), two styles. Please contact Cherryl if you would like to purchase a club jacket or other article of clothing. The bartenders can help with the hats, as they are usually in stock at the club.

We added member function pictures! When new pictures have been added to our website, check them out at: www.woodvillerodandgun.com and click on the "Gallery". If you would like to post anything to the website please send it to webmaster@woodvillerodandgun.com.
