Meetings held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday, Monthly at 8:00pm Calendar of Events
General Information Cookbooks: As mentioned in last month's Message, the club is going to produce our own Cook Book. We have formed a committee (looking for help too) to work on this project. What we need from you are your recipies for cooking game and fish that all you hunters and fishing people pass on to others explaining the way you prepare your exotic dishes. Recipies for regular types of food are also being accepted along with appetizers and desserts. So let's hear from all you ice fishing and hunting camp cooks. Raffle: Connecticut Valley Arms, Firebolt 209 Ultra-mag, 50 caliber, Bolt action, In-line Black Powder Rifle - $6.00 per ticket or 2 for $10.00 Trap Range News Now is a nice time of year to practice Trap shooting on Sundays, as the lines are still short. As the Fall season approaches, more hunters start to practice for the upcoming hunting season and the lines become longer. Club of Four Seasons Many people drop by on Sunday afternoon, just to kick back, relax, and have a laugh at the bar. But I'm (Lj) always amazed at how people show up on Sunday's - during this warm weather, you'll see people showing on motorcycles or convertibles, and even by horseback! During the winter, some people show up by ski mobile. It seems that all year long, people are coming by with trailers - back from the ocean or a lake with boat trailers, or loaded with an ATV to go four-wheeling on our land. So many diverse interests for such a little club! Tales from the 4Th Stool at the Bar: There's always a good story at the bar. This month I was talking with Frank and Rick about their Fluke fishing adventure. The pictures they have show Fluke the size of doormats! (Click on the Gallery link on the left hand menu to view the pics.) Lj's Sporting Tip Be careful when loaning your boat and fishing equipment to some in-laws... Example: This past month I let my brother-in-law (my wife's sister's husband) borrow my boat and fishing poles. Unfortunately, he forgot to open the vent cap on the fuel tank, which caused the motor to stall about a 1/4 mile from the boat ramp. Then he couldn't find the drain plug! Deer Hunting Tip When crossing a river be sure your knot is tight and secure before tossing your deer into the river. So it doesn't end up floating down stream!!!
