Don't miss out on this fun filled day. Plenty of activities for the children and adults. We have Kids Casting, Archery and .410 shoot, for the adults we have .410 shoot, .22 shoot, Archery, Horseshoes, and Trap. Plus music and raffles. It's a whole day of fun. Each year we sell out on this event, so get your tickets early!!

LJ's Tip for August

Take the time to cut pieces of short knapped, artificial turf and fit them in each compartment in your tackle box. This will let your tackle dry faster after use and help prevent rust.

Disabled Veterans Poppy Sale!!!

We were able to collect $97.00 in Poppy Sales for the Disabled Veterans. Thank you to all who made a donation. Profits from these Poppy sales have helped countless veterans, widows, widowers, and orphans over the years, and the red poppy itself survives today as a perpetual tribute to those who have given their lives for us.

150 Shoot

We would like to have a 150 shoot this year. We are looking for a few folks to help out in running the shoot. Please let us know if you can volunteer a Sunday or two in order to keep this going.

Special thanks to Gary Truell, Rusty Hewins and all their helpers who organize and run the derby. Thank you to everyone who cleaned up the pond area the night before the derby.

Attention All New Hunters:

As of January 1st, 2006 all new hunters in Massachusetts must pass a hunter safety course. If you have held a hunting license in the past you are not required to take the course. This course is free and is held at various locations across the state. Locally, Southborough Rod and Gun will be holding a course starting Sept 5th. Pre-registration is required as this is a very popular course and will fill quickly. For more information go to the MassWildlife website, http://www.mass.gov/dfwele/dfw/dfw_toc.htm, click on Education, then click Learn About Hunting & Safety, or call (508) 792-7434 to pre-register.

For those who may need a replacement hunter safety certificate, the last mentioned web page has a link for form to fill out (on-line) to receive a new one.

Get this done soon, as hunting season will be upon us before you know it. LJW

If you have turned 65 and have 5 years of membership you are entitled to a life membership. Please contact the club if this applies to you.

Friendly reminder - We are always looking for help at the club events and functions. If you need to complete your 3 new member details, this is a way to do that. You see the club events published in this article. Mark them on your calendars as a reminder, check with your sponsor to see if anything is coming up or stop by the club and see what's happening. An extra pair of hands always makes the chore easier, and more fun!

Thank you to the members that have done some maintenance work on the trap machine which will keep things running smoothly.
  • " Goal Membership: At our last meeting Dennis Smith brought up the subject of Woodville members joining Goal. There are many benefits of being a Goal member that will also benefit us.
