Chicken BBQ 09

Before you know it, the Chicken BBQ will be upon us. Tickets are available at the clubhouse; $10 Adults, $6 seniors and $4 children under 12. Get your tickets early, as this is our biggest event of the year. Last year we had well over 300 attendees. Sign up sheet for volunteers will be at the clubhouse. Anyone needing to do a work detail please sign up. This year we expect to add a new activity for the children. We have a volunteer to organize a Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest. Many activities are going on at this event: kids fishing pool, kid's archery, trap shoot, horseshoes, etc. The list goes on. We'll be looking for many hands to assist.

Seafood Bake 09

Seafood Bake With temperatures in the 70's and hardly any humidity, it was a perfect afternoon for the seafood bake. For $30 we served half-chicken, a lobster, steamers, corn, fried fish, mussels, clam fritters, burgers and dogs. You definitely did not walk away hungry. With over 90 tickets sold the serving line moved rather quickly. It was a fantastic day. Tunes (and commentary) from John Villa were delightful, even the food servers were danc'n between courses. We also had some awesome prizes for the raffle, thank you to Bruce & Betty for shopping and the donation from Mike Cardinal (fishing rod) and Pat Ceruolo (George Foreman Grill). Many thanks to all those helped put on this sell-out event, including the grill crew, the kitchen crew, the fire pit crew, Trap crew and the horseshoe contest coordinators. Thanks to the Pratt family for the donation of corn and the Garner Saw Mill for the donation of firewood. The list goes on and on. Thank you to ALL for your support. And we can't forget to say thank you to Ricki for chairing this annual event.

Junior Olympic Nationals

Jr. Member, Mark Garner attended the Junior Olympic Nationals in Ohio this past July. We heard Mark did very well. But unfortunately we don't have more information for you. (Hopefully we'll have the scoop for the next issue). Congratulations to you Mark, job well done!

New members, if you need to complete your 3 work details, we still have some functions coming up that would help fulfill this obligation. Remember, anytime we have a function at the hall, there is a job to be done.

Ongoing, we can order jackets, shirts, etc. If you are interested in looking at these items please contact the club (508-435-4148). We have orange and green hats on hand, now embroidered ($8), and the newest item is a camouflaged version ($12), two styles. Please contact Cherryl if you would like to purchase a club jacket or other article of clothing. The bartenders can help with the hats, as they are usually in stock at the club.

We added member function pictures! When new pictures have been added to our website, check them out at: www.woodvillerodandgun.com and click on the "Gallery". If you would like to post anything to the website please send it to webmaster@woodvillerodandgun.com.
