Grounds Improvements:

Thank you to Kim, Boo, Edie and Rick, who took time out of their weekend to transplant Tiger Lilly's and some Browned Eyed Susan's out front. And, thanks to Kim for donating all the plants. Also, a huge Thank you to Kray Small for donating the new trees out front. With the new trees and the colorful plants, next spring the front will be beautiful.

With the Chicken BBQ upon us, a crew of over 10 assembled to extend the BBQ Pit. And what a nice job they all did. The pit now can accommodate even more chickens. Thank you to all who participated, your help is very much appreciated.

Worcester Tornados

It was learned from Woodville Rod and Gun Club member and former Worcester Tornados pitcher Greg Montalbano that some members of the team were interested in trap shooting. Due to the Worcester Tornados game and travel schedule they were not available to shoot on Sundays when the trap range is opened to the public. Greg contacted Woodville member and trustee, Fran Sowa and it was arranged for the players to shoot on Thursday August 30th. Alex Pena came dressed for the occasion in his camo hat and pants. Alex is a pitcher for the Worcester Tornados. Pat Perry a catcher and DH for the Tornados had never shot trap before but caught on very quickly. The players had a great time and did a great job shooting. The players thought it was so much fun they took video of each other when they weren't shooting so they could bring it back home. Alex is originally from the Dominican Republic and lives in New York when not playing ball for the Tornados. Pat will be returning home to Colorado where he lives in the off season when the season is over. The players could not hang around long as they had to get ready for a three game road trip to Quebec, Canada but were very grateful for the opportunity. Helping Fran run the range were members Laurie Bourn and Gary Hassett.

For the Good of the Club

The grounds and shooting range look fantastic - many thanks to the work crew for the fall clean up, and to the crew for landscaping the greens all summer long. The trap range is now in maintenance mode and looks great!

Chicken BBQ

We are all looking forward to the annual Chicken BBQ. See the website for pictures and next month's message for a full report.

October

A wonderful time of year - Pheasant stocking and Halloween parties at the club!
