Chicken BBQ

After much worrying on how the weather was to be the Chicken BBQ turned out to be a great day. With much effort from a lot to people the event was a huge success! Going into the morning of the BBQ there was 250 or so tickets sold, with a cap of 400 it was looking as we may take a hit. But when people awoke to find sunshine and blue sky's the phone started ringing. We sold well over 300 tickets. The chicken was to fight over, juicy and delicious with just the right amount of smoke from the hickory.

Making a visit later in the day was Frenchie. He had brain surgery on the prior Tuesday and walking around at the BBQ on Sunday, wow, now that's impressive!

Thank you!

We would like to thank everyone who invested time towards the BBQ, the people in the kitchen, trap range guys, the boys at the cooking pit, the parking crew, the servers, the horseshoe manager, the 22 and black powder shoot crew, the crew at the 410 range, the kids archery couple, the guy with the sound system, the ticket and soda sellers, the girl on the wheel, the great crew who showed up early to set up for the event, and the people who broke down and cleaned up after all was done. A lot of prep in the weeks leading to the event was a tremendous help and we'd thank those also. ~ Lee Wright

October

A wonderful time of year - Pheasant stocking and Halloween parties at the club!

We are trying something new for this year's Adult Halloween Party. No tickets, just come on down, in costume (or not), bring a Ghoulish delight (or not), and we'll have some freaky tunes playing.

Dues are due

It's that time of year again. Please remember that the dues are $80.00. If you pay your dues before the Adult Christmas Party (12/6/08) we will put your name into a drawing for free 2010 dues. Otherwise, dues are due by 12/31/2008. After that, dues will be increased by $10.00 ($90.00) until 1/31/2009.

If you have a hardship paying your dues this year, please contact someone from the membership committee early on. We'd rather work it out with you than loose a valuable member.

New members, if you need to complete your 3 work details, we still have some functions coming up that would help fulfill this obligation. Remember, anytime we have a function at the hall, there is a job to be done.

Ongoing, we can order jackets, shirts, etc. If you are interested in looking at these items please contact the club (508-435-4148).
