October 3, 2009 - Yard Sale (Members price: $5.00/space without a table or $10/space with a table) Weather providing, there will be space indoors and outdoors. Dues are Due Dues are $80.00 and anyone who pays their dues by 12/1/09 will be eligible for free dues for 2011. Name will be drawn at our Adult Christmas Party. Please note, we do not send out notices. Please pay your dues before 12/31/09 in order to avoid an additional $10.00 late fee. Nominations: Nominations are in process (started 1st meeting in September). By the time you get this publication, it will be close the end of September. The 1st meeting in October nominations close and we vote that night. If you are interested in being nominated for a Trustee, Officer or Membership position please attend this meeting. Chicken BBQ 09 Update in next message Conservation Camp This year we sponsored Dominic Morazzini. Dominic attended our last members meeting to thank us for sponsoring him. Dominic said he loved being outdoors and participating in the events. He took 2nd place with the biggest pickerel. He also got best muzzle loader (black powder shot) in his group and took 3rd best in the written exam. Rumor is Dominic is quite the cook; the fish were jumping from the pond into his frying pan and enjoyed by all. We're glad Dominic enjoyed his time at camp and it was our pleasure to be able to have him participate in such a worthwhile experience. Club Cleanup Unfortunately the weather wasn't kind to us this year. Due to the rain, we were unable to clean up the grounds as usual. Sorry to those who inquired and were told nothing would be happening. It was an after thought to focus on cleaning the inside. Thank you to the folks that did show and lent a hand. Every bit helps. We would like to acknowledge and give our Thanks to Pat Lynch for maintaining the grounds each week with the weed whacker and to Rick Vincuilla for mowing the grounds and the range areas. The grounds have looked fantastic all season. Archery Range The club approved the purchase of some new archery targets. Thanks to Steve, Richie and Kevin for picking them up. If you use the archery range, please let us know how the targets are working out for you. Take a look at this fish! GOAL Life Member, Joe Nava read our request for photos. He grew up fishing on Lake Whitehall and had to move to Alaska to catch this fish. Thanks Joe for sharing with us. Nice Pike, its almost as tall as you.
 Website needs photos! Folks, we need updated photos for the website. Many of you take pictures at our events, but we don't seem to receive many of them from you to post. If you have pictures that we can use, please place them on a cd and drop them off at the club. Or you can email them to remillard_karen@emc.com. We can also post pictures in this publication. If you'd like to include a photo, send it along with any caption you'd like with it. Committee Openings:

Scholarship
The Woodville Rod & Gun Club of Hopkinton is offering a $500.00 scholarship to a student in the area who shows an interest in environmental education and is pursuing a degree in wildlife, habitat, fisheries or forestry management, environmental, wildlife or marine biology at an accredited college. If anyone is interested in winter jackets, short sleeve denim shirts, or any other type of clothing, please contact Cherryl Barrett by stopping by, leaving a message at the club, or sending an email to: cherryl_b@hotmail.com. A small deposit will be required when ordering depending upon the price of the article of clothing.
Other notes... When you are sponsoring someone for membership, please have the application fee handed in with the application form. The membership committee will review applications at their next scheduled meeting. The Membership committee will then schedule an appointment for the interview. If you have any questions, please contact someone on the Membership committee. The committee meets on the second Thursday of the month from 7:30pm to 8:15pm. New members, if you need to complete your 3 work details, we still have some functions coming up that would help fulfill this obligation. Remember, anytime we have a function at the hall, there is a job to be done. Ongoing, we can order jackets, shirts, etc. If you are interested in looking at these items please contact the club (508-435-4148). We have orange and green hats on hand, now embroidered ($8), and the newest item is a camouflaged version ($12), two styles. Please contact Cherryl if you would like to purchase a club jacket or other article of clothing. The bartenders can help with the hats, as they are usually in stock at the club. Hall Rentals:
A deposit and contract are required to hold a date. Deposits are refunded at the end of the function once the hall has been cleaned. The hall is available for rentals, please contact the Bar Manager, Kim Clark at kclark241@verizon.net or leave a message at 508-435-4148. Children’s party rentals can be on Wednesday's or Thursday's only. Sunday's will be restricted to Member rentals only. If there is any food out or being prepped, then Dogs are not allowed in the building. When a member is renting the hall, the member has to be there from the beginning to the end.
