Officer Nominations Officers were voted in at the last meeting. Following are the officers for 2009:
President: Mike Collins Change of hours on Wednesday's On Wednesday's we will be opening at 3:00pm and closing at 8:00pm. If there is a rental, or club function scheduled, the club will remain open after 8:00. Roof Extension The roof extension is close to being done. A huge thank you to all the members who have contributed their time in getting this project completed in record time. Everything looks fantastic. October! A wonderful time of year - Pheasant stocking starts on 10/18! Children's Halloween Party is 10/31, starting at 6:00pm to 8:00pm.Dues are due It's that time of year again. Please remember that the dues are $80.00. If dues are paid before the Adult Christmas Party (12/6/08) we will put your name into a drawing for free 2010 dues. Otherwise, dues are due by 12/31/2008. After that, dues will be increased by $10.00 ($90.00) until 1/31/2009. *If you have a hardship paying your dues this year, please contact someone from the membership committee early on. If you have turned 65 and have 5 years of membership you are entitled to a life membership. Please contact the club if this applies to you. Do you have an email address? Scholarship
The Woodville Rod & Gun Club of Hopkinton is offering a $500.00 scholarship to a student in the area who shows an interest in environmental education and is pursuing a degree in wildlife, habitat, fisheries or forestry management, environmental, wildlife or marine biology at an accredited college. If anyone is interested in winter jackets, short sleeve denim shirts, or any other type of clothing, please contact Cherryl Barrett by stopping by, leaving a message at the club, or sending an email to: cherryl_b@hotmail.com. A small deposit will be required when ordering depending upon the price of the article of clothing.
Other notes... When you are sponsoring someone for membership, please have the application fee handed in with the application form. The membership committee will review applications at their next scheduled meeting. The Membership committee will then schedule an appointment for the interview. If you have any questions, please contact someone on the Membership committee. The committee meets on the second Thursday of the month from 7:30pm to 8:15pm. New members, if you need to complete your 3 work details, we still have some functions coming up that would help fulfill this obligation. Remember, anytime we have a function at the hall, there is a job to be done. Ongoing, we can order jackets, shirts, etc. If you are interested in looking at these items please contact the club (508-435-4148). We have orange and green hats on hand, now embroidered ($8), and the newest item is a camouflaged version ($12), two styles. Please contact Cherryl if you would like to purchase a club jacket or other article of clothing. The bartenders can help with the hats, as they are usually in stock at the club. Hall Rentals:
A deposit and contract are required to hold a date. Deposits are refunded at the end of the function once the hall has been cleaned. Children’s party rentals can be on Wednesday's or Thursday's only. Sunday's will be restricted to Member rentals only. If there is any food out or being prepped, then Dogs are not allowed in the building. When a member is renting the hall, the member has to be there from the beginning to the end.
