October 17, 2009 - Pig Roast (CANCELLED) Dues are Due Dues are $80.00 and anyone who pays their dues by 12/1/09 will be eligible for free dues for 2011. Name will be drawn at our Adult Christmas Party. Please note, we do not send out notices. Please pay your dues before 12/31/09 in order to avoid an additional $10.00 late fee. President - Mike Collins Wednesday Night Corn Toss Pat Lynch is starting a "corn toss" activity. Starting Wednesday 11/4, check in by 6:45. Start playing by 7:00pm. $2.00 per person. You do not need to sign up, just stop in. Any questions contact Pat Lynch at 508-881-3463. With a long winter ahead, this will break up your week and sounds like a fun time. TV Raffle at Super Bowl Sunday We've made a change to the TV Raffle. We will be raffling off two TV's. The 46" Sony will be 1st prize and the 42" Vizio will be 2nd prize. Price is still $20 each, and we will be selling only 105 tickets. Chicken BBQ 09 Another fantastic Chicken BBQ. The weather was perfect the food was awesome. With 340 people in attendance, we had another fun event. This event takes many hands to be successful. We'd like to thank everyone who invested time towards the BBQ, the kitchen crew, trap range crew, the pit crew, the parking crew, the servers, the horseshoe manager, the 22, black powder, 410, kids archery, sound system, ticket and soda sellers, money wheel, the crew who showed up early to set up for the event, and the people who broke down and cleaned up after all was done. A lot of prep work was done the week before and we'd like to thank all of you too. Thank you all for your support and attendance at one of the biggest events of the year. Front grounds The front lawns are done! And it looks fabulous. The boulders have been moved, dirt piles have been spread, and landscaping is done. Thank you to Rick & Richie Vincuilla, Boo Clark, Frenchie & Jim Remillard for all your hard work and for volunteering your time. Thanks to Skip Lukey for letting us use his tractor, Vincuilla Landscaping for their equipment, Ned for stopping and lending a hand. Also, Thanks to Mr. Dienna for truck loads of gravel, stone, loam. Donation to the club We have received a beautiful 20 lb. recurve Heritage Buckeye 28# bow with a Hoyte Site that older kids and adults can use for archery practice from Jerry's Bait and Tackle of Milford Ma. This recurve is easy to shoot and has a fiber optics pin and peep site already mounted on it. We encourage members and their families to try out this bow on our archery ranges, and it will be available for archery events at the Chicken BBQ. Thanks Jerry! Partridge Hunting!  Website needs photos! Folks, we need updated photos for the website. Many of you take pictures at our events, but we don't seem to receive many of them from you to post. If you have pictures that we can use, please place them on a cd and drop them off at the club. Or you can email them to remillard_karen@emc.com. We can also post pictures in this publication. If you'd like to include a photo, send it along with any caption you'd like with it. Committee Openings:

Scholarship
The Woodville Rod & Gun Club of Hopkinton is offering a $500.00 scholarship to a student in the area who shows an interest in environmental education and is pursuing a degree in wildlife, habitat, fisheries or forestry management, environmental, wildlife or marine biology at an accredited college. If anyone is interested in winter jackets, short sleeve denim shirts, or any other type of clothing, please contact Cherryl Barrett by stopping by, leaving a message at the club, or sending an email to: cherryl_b@hotmail.com. A small deposit will be required when ordering depending upon the price of the article of clothing.
Other notes... When you are sponsoring someone for membership, please have the application fee handed in with the application form. The membership committee will review applications at their next scheduled meeting. The Membership committee will then schedule an appointment for the interview. If you have any questions, please contact someone on the Membership committee. The committee meets on the second Thursday of the month from 7:30pm to 8:15pm. New members, if you need to complete your 3 work details, we still have some functions coming up that would help fulfill this obligation. Remember, anytime we have a function at the hall, there is a job to be done. Ongoing, we can order jackets, shirts, etc. If you are interested in looking at these items please contact the club (508-435-4148). We have orange and green hats on hand, now embroidered ($8), and the newest item is a camouflaged version ($12), two styles. Please contact Cherryl if you would like to purchase a club jacket or other article of clothing. The bartenders can help with the hats, as they are usually in stock at the club. Hall Rentals:
A deposit and contract are required to hold a date. Deposits are refunded at the end of the function once the hall has been cleaned. The hall is available for rentals, please contact the Bar Manager, Kim Clark at kclark241@verizon.net or leave a message at 508-435-4148. Children’s party rentals can be on Wednesday's or Thursday's only. Sunday's will be restricted to Member rentals only. If there is any food out or being prepped, then Dogs are not allowed in the building. When a member is renting the hall, the member has to be there from the beginning to the end.
