75th Annual Chicken Barbecue
Our 75th Annual Chicken Barbecue was a huge success. With blue skies and temperatures in the 80’s the parking lots were overflowing. There were 350 people in attendance. This year we sold out before the function started and it was our first year of having to turn some people away L. Many thanks to all who helped make this function a big success. This event was very beneficial to our fiscal goals. We would like to say “Thank you” to Frank Torento. Frank has headed up this function for many many years now (of course not all 75 right Frank?). And each year it gets bigger and bigger.
Many members were sporting T-Shirts celebrating our 75th Annual Chicken Barbecue, these were designed by Kray Small. Thank you Kray for donating your time for this worthy cause. The T-Shirts sales benefit our Scholarship program and are stil lon sale at the bar. $12.00 each please ask the bartender.
Drop by the club and have a laugh over the many pictures on display!!

Scholarship Awarded to Erik Carlson
The Woodville Rod and Gun Club recently awarded its $500.00 scholarship to Erik Carlson, a senior from Medway High School. The scholarship is awarded to the senior who shows an interest in environmental education and is pursuing a degree in wildlife, habitat, fisheries or forestry management, environmental, wildlife or marine biology at an accredited college or university.
Erik plans on attending the University of New England in the fall. He wants a degree in environmental science and marine biology and is planning on pursuing a career in protecting the ocean.
Erik is an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. To get his Eagle Scout award he designed and documented a plan that would improve his community. He set up a reading library by coordinating the reading of 25 children's books onto tapes that were forwarded to a summer camp for special needs children in his hometown of Medway. Erik earned many merit badges including nature, environmental science, plant and soil conservation, camping, wilderness survival and orienteering.
Club members were delighted with the choice of Erik Carlson as the recipient of the scholarship. Since Erik met the criteria for the scholarship and enjoys camping, swimming, rock climbing, biking, backpacking and skiing, and is an Eagle Scout, he is the perfect choice for the scholarship offered for the first time this year.

- Ongoing, we can order jackets, either spring or winter. The spring jackets finally arrived, and were well received by all. Thank you for your patience. If you are interested in looking at these items please keep in contact with the club (508-435-4148). Once they come in, stop by and let us know what you think. The green hats have been ordered and should be arriving soon. We do have orange ones on hand.
