General Information

Dues are Due

It's that time of year again folks and dues need to be paid by 12/31/04 in order to avoid any surcharges. Anyone who pays their dues on or before the Adult Christmas Party (12/11) will be eligible for the drawing for free dues the following year.

Steak, Chicken and Porketta shoots, Meat Raffle's:

Please join us on Sundays at 4:00 for a shoot. It is a lot of fun and a meat raffle follows. Who knows, you could win supper and a week's worth of food. Feel free to call the club to find out the dates. These are held all winter long.

Gun Raffle:

The raffle for the Black Powder rifle will extend to the first meeting in December. If you haven't purchased a ticket, come on down to the club. Not a bad Christmas gift for someone special!

Cookbooks:

We are still collecting recipes for our cookbook. We would appreciate any and all donations. Thank you to those of you that have taken the time to drop off recipes. We know many have said you have some, so we would love to get them into the book. The sooner we get enough recipes, the sooner the book can be published. Any proceeds will go to benefit the club. Recipes for regular types of food are also being accepted along with appetizers and desserts. We are also looking for kids recipes. So let's hear from all you ice fishing and hunting camp cooks. We are also looking for suggestions for a title. Please feel free to let Dennis Smith know any ideas.

October's Major Events

This is a wonderful time of year at the Woodville Rod and Gun Club, with many events including:

  • Three stockings of pheasant, totaling 155 birds! Many thanks to Bear and Fran for making the early-early morning trip to pick up the birds and to Bruce and Big Joe for distributing the birds on 4-wheelers across our land. By the way, I (Lj) agree that the birds tasted great too!
  • A Porketta Dinner on October 16th that was fantastic.
  • A surprise 40th (typo here) birthday party for our Bar Manager, Jo-Ann.
  • An adult Halloween Pot-luck Supper Party. The food was great, the costumes were very amusing, and the fundraising was very innovative!
  • A children's Halloween Party, complete with eating donuts off a string and bobbing for apples! And don't forget, the ghost stories and s'mores at the camp fire!!

Lj's Sporting Tip

The pessimist may be more accurate on a hunting or fishing trip, but the optimist is more enjoyable to be with!
