A Year of Thanks

Last months' mention of thanks for donations to our Annual Thanksgiving Dinner was just the beginning. We had an incredibly overwhelming response for donations. 16 Turkeys out of 18 were donated, either by cash donations or dropped off. The club only had to purchase 2. Most of the vegetables were donated along with pies, brownies and various deserts.

A total of 141 meals were either served or packaged up for home delivery. Over 50 people helped between Wednesday prepping and Thursday's dinner. The meal was fantastic, serving the traditional turkey dinner with all the fixings plus two kinds of deep fried Turkey. Garlic/Teriyaki and Honey/Paprika. All varieties of the Turkey's were delicious. I can't say Thank you enough to everyone who helped make this Thanksgiving Dinner a most rewarding and memorable one. We don't want to forget anyone by listing names. You all know who you are.

Its official, the hall is decorated for the Holiday Season. Thank you to Kim Clark and Edith Vincuilla for decorating the hall and bar area. Thank you to Cris Riley for decorating our Christmas Tree. You all have done a wonderful job decorating. Everything is beautiful.

Courtesy Cards Now on Woodville Website

Woodville Rod & Gun is now offering a simple "Courtesy Card" on its website (www.WoodvilleRodandGun.com) for obtaining permission to hunt on privately owned land.

Some towns in Massachusetts require written landowner permission to hunt legally. Be sure to check if there is a specific form required for your town, if not then this card is a great way get written permission to hunt and make the landowner feel comfortable by pledging to uphold the Sportsman's Code of Ethics (as stated on the NRAhq.org website).

It's important for sportsmen to foster strong relationships with private landowners by treating them with courtesy and respect. These cards ensure the landowner knows who you are and how to reach you if any problems arise. Hunting on private land is a privilege. Remember, individual good behavior will benefit all sportsmen.

TIP: Woodville's courtesy cards are 4" x 6", the same as a standard photo. If you have courtesy cards for many different landowners you can organize your permission slips in a small 4" x 6" photo album for easy access.
