August 7, 2010 - Seafood Bake Condolences Our Deepest condolences to the Kadlik family. Welcome New Members: Henry Allessio, Mark Eusebio, Pat O’Brien Sr & Pat Jr, Conor O’Brien, Josh Sables, Joseph P Keefe and Stefanie Garner “Positive Comments” We have received so many positive comments regarding the men’s room makeover that we once again would like to thank Fran Sowa for undertaking the project and Steve & Caroline Monahan for their help. The finished job looks great! Kids Derby 2010 It was a bright and sunny morning for the annual Kid’s Fishing Derby held at Pratt’s Pond in Hopkinton, on Saturday May 15th. The pond had been stocked with fish, and the area trimmed and tidied up in expectation of the kids arriving the next morning to make their big catch. From the sounds of it, a wonderful time was had by all. There was a bit of a breeze, so a few trees now have hooks, lines, and sinkers hanging from the branches. Everyone was a winner! In Gary Truell fashion, there was a wonderful crew on hand to help the kids, measure fish, record the catches, the cooks, the 4-wheelers and anyone else that I am forgetting to mention. This crew does a wonderful job for the kids, and makes it a very memorable and pleasant experience. Thank you to each of you who helped in making this event so successful. The trophies went to the following:
1st Conor Nieminen 2nd Tyler Jones 3rd Timothy Pratt
7 & 8 year olds
1st Katherine Knox
9 & 10 year olds
1st Trevor Desjardins
11 thru 14 year olds
1st Bella Montuori
In a class all their own: New fence installed behind the horseshoe pits For many years there has been an old and deteriorated fence between the horseshoe pits and the dumpster. The old fence was unattractive and unstable, and thanks to the horseshoe league the fence was removed and replaced with a new 48’ stockade fence. The project was funded by the horseshoe league members and installed by Brad Lovejoy, Steve Monahan and Dennis Stratton. Thanks to all for the nice improvement to the club grounds.
