Thank you to Fran Sowa

We'd like to thank Fran Sowa for his dedication and commitment to our club during his time as a Trustee. Due to health reason's Fran has had to resign. Thanks to Fran our fire alarm system was installed in record time. He spent many hours of his own time helping out the electricians in order to save the club money. There are numerous other projects that Fran has assisted with (too many to list here) and we very much appreciate all the extras that he has done for the club.

By-Law Books

We have recently mailed out by-law books so everyone is sure to have a current book. Additionally in the envelope we sent along information regarding the upcoming Adult Christmas Party, Children's Christmas Party and a calendar of events for 2009. Please notify the club at 508-435-4148 if you do not receive this.

Officer Nominations

At the recent meeting on 11/4 we had to correct a mistake made on the replacement trustee position for Fran Sowa. His term actually is for another 2 years, there by the incoming trustee would have started immediately. Nominations were opened again. Frank Wylie was voted in as a Trustee. Congratulations to Frank Wylie.

Comedy Night

Our second comedy night was held on Saturday November 8th. And it was SOLD OUT (again). With 150 attendees, they feasted on a fabulous Roast Beef Dinner with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans almandine, chicken soup, salad and garlic bread. Thank you to Kim Clark and Cherryl Barrett for the homemade desserts. The whole evening was fantastic. A huge THANK YOU goes out to all the kitchen crew and everyone involved in making this event so successful. Laughter echoed throughout the hall as the comedians performed for us.

Kids Halloween Party

All the little ghosts, goblins, witches, piglets, lions and more were having a blast on Halloween this year. Thanks to Susan Bush for donating new games from the recreation department. The kids enjoyed themselves as did the adults, and as usual, there were many goodies to take home. Thank you to this year's decorators and volunteers at the kids' party for making this another successful event.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Just a reminder that Thanksgiving dinner will be served from 11:00am to 3:00pm. Thank you to George Payson who donated the first turkey. I'm sure we'll have more donations before this publication is sent out and we'll acknowledge everyone in the December issue.

December

Reminder: Adult Christmas Party 12/6 and the Kids Christmas Party 12/7. Please send in your information for the kid's party by 11/26. We shop for the kids the day after Thanksgiving.

Dues are due

It's that time of year again. Please remember that the dues are $80.00. If dues are paid before the Adult Christmas Party (12/6/08) we will put your name into a drawing for free 2010 dues. Otherwise, dues are due by 12/31/2008. After that, dues will be increased by $10.00 ($90.00) until 1/31/2009.

*If you have a hardship paying your dues this year, please contact someone from the membership committee early on. We'd rather work it out with you than loose a valuable member.

Notices of upcoming events being sent via emails
