Our deepest condolences to the family of Gus (August) Hangos, and to the family of Mike McIntyre. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Thank You

We would like to extend a huge “thank-you” to our outgoing Trustee, Gary Hassett, for the great job that he has done during his term. There are always a lot of ongoing issues that the Trustees have to deal with and we thank Gary for his wisdom and his commitment

Thanksgiving 2011

Each year we get more and more people who want to help with our Thanksgiving Dinner. This year was no exception. Starting with George Payson back in September by giving us our first cash donation, and from then on, the donations just kept coming in, right up until the day of the dinner when a stranger drove up the driveway and asked if we were putting on the dinner, he then reached out and gave us a donation of $100, and this was just one cash donation, we received many. This year every single turkey was donated too. You all know who you are, thank you so very much. To each and every one of you who participated in making this year’s dinner a huge success thank you. We’d love to list every name, but we don’t want to take a chance of missing anyone. I would like to mention kudos to Betty Pratt for working with the local grocery stores again this year, requesting donations and arranging the wonderful pies from her work. She is like a pit bull. I’m sure they will respond to her request next year in a timely manner. The traditional turkey just melted in your mouth, smothered in Frenchie’s secret gravy recipe, and Lee’s deep fried turkey was so popular, we ran out! Next year we’ll plan on doing more of them. This year we had 89 sit downs and 50 take out. Thank you Marcel ‘Frenchie’ Remillard for heading this up for the past 11 years and in memory of Dennis Smith, who started it all. Happy Holidays to all of you.

2012 Hunting Season

Congratulations to Paul Ned on shooting his first deer. On the first Monday of shotgun season at approximately 7:30 am in Warwick, MA, two shots rang out and Ned had bagged his first deer ever. It was a seven point buck weighing in at 164 lbs. Appropriately, this was the first deer taken at Ned’s camp and this first mount will soon be hanging on the camp wall.

Judy Shepard’s 1st buck. Also in the picture, beaming from ear to ear is Judy’s husband, member Joe Shepard. Congratulations Judy!!

Congratulations to Woodville member Greg Leal for shooting this bad boy during archery season

Members Bruce Pratt, Greg Pratt and non-member Roger Keyes after a guided pheasant hunt in Full Flight Pheasant Farm in November 2011. Nice job guys!!

Member Robert Ross and his sons, Justin and Brian hunt the early, black powder, mule season in Washington State, located near Pullman on the steps above Lewiston, Washington on the border of Idaho. Bob has sent us a wonderful story of his last hunt. I am hoping we can get the entire story on our website so you can all review it.
